13 people were hurt in a high speed boating accident on the Colorado River late Saturday afternoon. Three people were critically injured, but only one remained in critical condition by Monday afternoon.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s office is investigating the crash of the 20 foot boat about thirty miles north of the California community of Blythe. A witness indicated the vessel failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into some rocks along the shoreline.
Sheriff’s deputy Mike Vasquez said investigators believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
