A 15-year prison sentence was imposed Monday, June 5 for a Bullhead City man who pled guilty in a drunk driving traffic fatality. The punishment for 28-year-old Shane Richardson was stipulated in a plea agreement convicting him of manslaughter in the February, 2016 death of Joseph Frederick, 57, Bullhead City.
The Department of Public Safety said a vehicle operated by Richardson crossed the center lane of Highway 95 before colliding with Frederick’s vehicle on Highway 95 in Fort Mohave. Richardson was hospitalized for his injuries after both vehicles caught fire after the crash.
Judge Steve Conn noted police reports indicated that Richardson’s blood alcohol content was nearly three times above the legal limit at the time of the head-on collision.
