Bullhead City, Ariz. – Bullhead City’s 9th annual River Regatta proved to be another success for the Tri-State area. The world’s largest river float down the Colorado River played host to 26,801* registered participants from around the country who drifted on tubes, floats and handcrafted vessels along 9 miles of desert shoreline.
Floaters began launching at 7 a.m. from Davis Camp, Community Park, and on the Laughlin, NV side at the Pioneer Hotel Casino & Harrah’s Resort beaches. Participants came ashore at Rotary Park where they enjoyed hotdogs and cool beverages before boarding the shuttle bus back to their cars or Laughlin Hotel properties.
Over 20 public safety agencies participated in this year’s event, including air, ground and river support, to help make the day safe and fun for everyone.
Winners of the Decorated Float and Most Spirited House contest will be announced tomorrow, August 9th, 10 a.m. at Harrah’s Laughlin banquet room.
We look forward to next year’s “Pirates of the Colorado,” set for August 13th, 2016. For more information, log on to www.BullheadRegatta.com.
The City of Bullhead City thanks the participating agencies, sponsors, partners in Laughlin, volunteers, participants and community for another successful River Regatta.
