Dear Mayor Mark S. Nexsen,
We would like to take this opportunity to send our thanks and appreciation to all the people of Lake Havasu for inviting us to join with the 2015 Balloon Festival and making us feel so welcome in the City. We specifically thank John Parrot, Larry Sanders, Becky Goldberg and all of the organizers for their invaluable help and assistance with the logistics of attending. We also wish to thank our sponsors, The McCulloch Family, for extending the initial invitation to us to attend and hosting a superb drinks reception upon our arrival. Gary and Diana Moore have overseen an exceptionally professional event, one of the very best in the world. They have done so with panache, integrity and in a friendly and welcoming manner. Exclusive Ballooning operate hot air balloons all over the world attending events globally and also widely across the United States. Whilst the Balloon Fest in Lake Havasu is one of the best we have ever attended, we would like to specifically also mention how much we enjoyed spending our time in your City. We are impressed with caliber and number of volunteers from the City and our own local ground crew of Susie and Clifford Cook, who looked after our Lord Mayor’s Appeal balloon, were amazing ambassadors and are now great friends. Every person we came into contact with on our visit to Lake Havasu was friendly, welcoming and a credit to your beautiful City. Everywhere we walked, every restaurant we ate in, every gas station we filled up in and every time we landed, local residents would go out of their way to come and speak to us and reinforce how welcome we were. We therefore thank everyone in Havasu for a fabulous week. We will be working with the Lord Mayors Charity Appeal, the City of London and the organisers of Havasu Balloon Fest in order to help build the relationship between the two cities and raise awareness and funds for charities on both sides of the Atlantic. We will be inviting local pilot Gary Moore to fly at our own event in the UK later this year to promote Lake Havasu and look forward to returning to Havasu in 2016 to meet up with all of the new friends we have made and make further new ones.
