Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Courtney Marie Atwood, 34, and Leonard Lee Weidner III, 26, both of Lake Havasu City, late Saturday (12/27) afternoon. Atwood was arrested for false report to law enforcement, driving with a suspended license and a failure to appear warrant issued by Lake Havasu City Municipal Court, misdemeanors. Weidner was arrested for false report to law enforcement, misdemeanor. Deputies observed a quad traveling westbound on Vista Drive. Deputies further observed the quad did not have a visible license plate. Approximately 4:05 p.m., as deputies conducted a traffic stop the quad pulled into the driveway of a residence in the 1000 block of Vista Drive. Deputies contacted the female operator, who identified herself as Stacy. During the traffic stop, a male subject later identified as Weidner approached the scene. Weidner advised that the female is his girlfriend and he confirmed her identity as Stacy. Deputies further questioned the female subject and she eventually provided her correct name of Atwood. During conversations with Atwood, she said that she lied about her name because she has a warrant. A records check showed Atwood to have an active warrant and a suspended driver’s license. Atwood was taken into custody without incident. Deputies re-contacted Weidner and he admitted to lying about her name. Weidner was taken into custody without incident. They were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Atwood was also cited for no vehicle registration and no insurance.
WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Arthur David Desouza, 53, of Fort Mohave, Saturday (12/27) evening on a misdemeanor warrant for false reporting issued by Bullhead City Justice Court. Approximately 7:47 p.m., deputies contacted Desouza at a residence in the 4200 block of Infantry Road regarding his active warrant where he was taken into custody without incident. Desouza was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
