A three year old girl is dead after showing signs of battery, and three women, including the victim’s mother, are arrested. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu says the girl’s primary caregiver, 45 year old Shawn Main,(pictured) drove Tiana Capps to the emergency room after she stopped breathing. According to
the Sheriff, the child died in the E/R. Main claimed the child’s injuries throughout her body were self-inflicted, but Babeu says, that doesn’t jibe with the autopsy’s findings, which he calls, “just sickening.”
Babeu says the mother, 27 year old Tina Morse, admitted to not caring for her daughter. She also has four other children who are malnourished and the Department of Child Safety has taken custody of them. The Sheriff says two of those children, including a five year old, also bear some marks on them.
The Sheriff adds, the home was covered in “absolute filth”, riddled with animal feces and “belongings stacked upon each other”, typical of a “hoarder’s residence.”
A third woman, 46 year old Maria Tiglao was caring for Morse’s infant. Main is charged with murder and child abuse. The mother and Tiglao are charged with child abuse only.
