Earlier this month, the 4th Annual Jeff Driesen Memorial Golf Tournament was held at the Mojave Resort Golf Club in Laughlin. A total of 96 golfers turned in score cards following the Dec. 5 tournament, which generated a donation totaling $7,484 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River – the largest in the tournament’s history.
“The Club would like to sincerely thank the tournament’s 30 sponsors, along with the Driesen family for picking up over $1,800 in expenses and organizing a raffle again this year,” BGCCR President and CEO Teri Tomlinson said. “We can’t thank the Mojave Resort staff enough for their hospitality while hosting this very special event, with 100% of the funds benefiting the youth in our community.”
Jeff’s parents Al and Kathleen say the tournament has become an annual favorite this time of year with area golfers. The event was organized in 2012 to help commemorate the memory of their son Jeff, a Mohave Valley man who died unexpectedly in an automobile accident in 2011.
“Three donors should receive special mention. They are James Stovall, Paul Pryor and Bill O,Connell,” Al Driesen said. “Our son Jeff was well thought of in the community and loved mentoring youth. This tournament is one way of keeping Jeff’s commitment to all kids alive and well.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River want to thank the Driesen family for their wonderful donation, which goes to help numerous Club Kids while continuing a lasting legacy in Jeff Driesen’s name.
