elexMohave County officials and volunteers have nearly completed the November 4 general election. Some 5,900 ballots were processed after election night and only seven ballots are left to verify, according to Mohave County Elections Director Allen Tempert. The processing of leftover ballots brings just one change in the unofficial election results. Instead of winning re-election, incumbent David McAtlin loses his Lake Havasu City Council seat to challenger Michele Lin. McAtlin led Lin by 68 votes on election night, but his lead evaporated into a 25 vote loss (6,361-6336) after six additional days of ballot processing. County wide voter turnout was a dismal 40.61%. The vote is set to be canvassed during next Monday’s meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.
