A Laughlin man has been hospitalized after crashing his friend’s motorcycle on James A. Bilbray Parkway last night and authorities suspect alcohol was a factor. Todd Wayne Andrews, Jr., 28, of Laughlin, doesn’t even have a motorcycle license and Metro police say he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Andrews was airlifted to UMC in Las Vegas after initially being transported to WARMC in Bullhead City.
Metro Lt. John Healy says Andrews borrowed his friend’s motorcycle and was travelling west on James Bilbray when the motorcycle jumped the curb just east of the intersection with Winston Woods Lane. Andrews reportedly road the curb all the way to the intersection and that’s where the motorcycle came to rest. The accident occurred shortly after 10 p.m.
Andrews was cited for operating the motorcycle without a license, failure to maintain lane, no helmet and DUI.
His current condition is unknown.
