Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Steven Lujan, 25, of Kingman, Saturday (3/28) evening for aggravated DUI – suspended license, felony. Approximately 10:08 p.m., deputies responded to a single vehicle non-injury accident at the intersection of Able Drive and Sunhaven Lane. Upon arrival, deputies observed a red four door passenger vehicle that collided with a power pole. Deputies further observed a Sheriff’s Office Posse member giving the driver, later identified as Lujan, instructions. Deputies contacted Lujan and smelled an odor of alcohol on him. Deputies observed Lujan’s speech was slow and slurred. During conversations with Lujan, he said the vehicles brakes stopped working. Further conversations with Lujan, he admitted to having two beers earlier. A records check showed Lujan‘s driver’s license to be suspended for failure to appear on a DUI charge in 2014. Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Lujan was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .219%. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
