As that monster storm from California heads into Arizona, ADOT is readying snowplows to ensure high country roads don’t get smothered in the white stuff. ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel says he doesn’t expect the pounding Mother Nature has been giving our neighbor to the West, but the remnants are expected to pelt Arizona overnight Saturday with several inches of snow .
Nintzel says the snowplows will be picking up the snow as it builds up. As for roads expected to get hardest hit, Nintzel says, Northbound Interstate 17 and Interstate 40 in Flagstaff are the “usual suspects” in the situation.
He also says, avoid driving in the height of the storm, drive slower than usual and be mindful of those snowplows at work by giving them the space they need to get the job done.
