Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Luis Arenaz, 31, of Lake Havasu City, Sunday (3/8) afternoon for aggravated assault on law enforcement officer, a felony. Approximately 1:15 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Tourmaline Street regarding a fight. Investigations determined that Arenaz confronted a neighbor earlier because the neighbor told Arenaz’s girlfriend to slow down in her driving. Apparently, Arenaz pushed the neighbor and they fought briefly before Arenaz left the scene. A short time later, deputies responded back to the residence as Arenaz had returned and he was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies observed Arenaz yelling and screaming at the neighbors. Arenaz was taken into custody without incident for disorderly conduct. Arenaz was transported to the Mohave County District III Substation. At the substation, Arenaz advanced toward the deputy in an aggressive manner while he was yelling and screaming. Arenaz attempted to head butt the deputy without success. Arenaz spit and struck the deputy in the lower abdomen area. Arenaz was further restrained and he was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without further incident.
