Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Aaron D Salter, 20, a transient, Friday (3/13) morning for aggravated assault on a peace officer and attempt to commit burglary, felonies, along with criminal damage, disorderly conduct and false report to law enforcement, misdemeanors. Approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 4200 block of North Arizona Street. Dispatch advised that the reporting party said people were physically fighting outside of an apartment complex and hitting one another with beer bottles. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a male subject, later identified as Salter, damaged a window. Deputies learned that Salter left the scene walking with cuts to his arms. A short time later, deputies located Salter in a wash near the Kingman High School on Bank Street. Deputies observed Salter to be intoxicated. Deputies contacted Salter and observed a cut on his arm. Deputies offered to call medical and Salter said he was fine. Salter was taken into custody. Salter was placed in the patrol car. Salter started kicking and banging his head in the backseat of the patrol car. As deputies were trying to calm Salter down, he spit on a deputy. A jail van responded. Salter became combative when he was removed from the patrol car. Salter was further restrained and placed into the jail van. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. Investigations determined that Salter was visiting friends and his friends told him to leave as he was causing a disturbance. After Salter exited his friend’s house, he proceeded to break a window and damaged a window frame. Apparently, Salter damaged a residence next door to his friend’s residence.
