A Lake Havasu City man who allegedly caused a dog’s leg to be amputated faces prosecution for animal cruelty and disorderly conduct. Kevin Horrell, 35, was arrested October 19 for an incident that occurred on October 16.
Police reports indicated Horrell was angry because a woman’s dog peed on his side of the bed. The woman reportedly changed the sheets and tried to protect her one year old mixed breed dog when Horrell charged and took control of her pet hours later.
“She had her eyes closed because she was afraid Kevin would hurt the dog,” a police report stated. “When she opened her eyes she saw the dog flying through the living room and into the kitchen. She heard the dog hit something, she thinks a wall, and then start crying.”
The dog reportedly suffered a severe fracture and had its left hind leg amputated the next day.
