courthouseIt took a couple of decades for punishment to be imposed in an ancient Mohave County methamphetamine case. A seizure of nearly a half-pound of methamphetamine led to drug charges being filed against Victor Rubio Quintero back in 1995.

A case co-defendant entered a plea agreement and was sentenced in 1998 but Quintero was a wanted fugitive until he was arrested in another jurisdiction in May of this year. He was transported back to Mohave County and he pled guilty to a charge of possession of dangerous drugs for sale.

More than 20 years after the crime, Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn ordered a 3 1/2-year prison term for Quintero during an October 13 sentencing hearing.
