CHIPSEAL-2012-050The Lake Havasu City Maintenance Services Division has announced that the 2015-2016 Fog Seal Program is scheduled to begin Monday, October 12, 2015, and will take approximately one week to complete, depending on weather conditions. This fog seal project is part of the City’s annual pavement preservation program and consists of sealing the new pavement at the intersection of Palo Verde Boulevard South and Kiowa Boulevard South and parking lots in various portions of the city. The fog sealing process is an efficient and cost effective method of prolonging the useable service life of asphalt pavement.

 Residents and businesses located along streets where fog seal is scheduled to be applied will receive a detailed door hanger notice in advance of the construction and again 24 hours prior to the work starting. The City asks that residents refrain from parking on the streets and to remove all vehicles from the streets during the time that they are scheduled to be sealed, and to avoid letting running water into the street during this time. The application of the material will generally occur on one side of the street at a time and the remaining side will be completed the next day.


Motorists traveling on a street being fog sealed can expect delays due to street sealing activities and possible flagging to direct traffic flow.  Streets will not be closed off to traffic during the fog sealing process; however, motorists can expect some lane and access restrictions and it is recommended that motorists use alternate routes whenever possible.
