A Gilbert apartment complex under construction goes up in flames that turns into a five-alarm raging inferno.  Fire Captain Mike Connor says over 120 firefighters battled a massive blaze that was jumping from building to building.  Forty to 50-foot flames were shooting into the sky.  Flying embers set off hot spots at two

neighboring apartment complexes and two homes that crews evacuated. The apartment complex was in the beginning  phrase of construction with only the frame.  At this stage, a small frame fire burns hot and grows really fast.  A couple firefighters suffered minor injuries.  Crews from Mesa, Chandler, Superstition, Phoenix and Tempe were called in to help battle Gilbert’s largest fire on record
