Governor Jan Brewer loses another round in her ban on Dreamer driver’s licenses. A court had already blocked her 2012 executive order denying driver’s licenses to young immigrants under D-A-C-A, President Obama’s executive order deferring deportations for those young people who crossed illegally into the U.S. with their parents and grew up here.
The Governor wanted that ruling put on hold, but the Ninth Circuit Appeals Court refused her request. Brewer had wanted a delay in order to allow the U.S. Supreme Court to review her case. The court’s refusal means the immigrants are inching closer to getting driver’s licenses against the Governor’s will.
