Arizona-based Goldwater Institute is suing the Federal Food and Drug Administration
to honor a freedom of information act request about the agency’s approval of an
experimental Ebola drug while stalling approval of experimental cancer

Goldwater Chief Counsel John Riches
admits that they are advocating for so-called “Right to Try’ laws to fast-track
experimental drug therapies that doctors believe would save terminally ill
patients and this suit is part of that.  Nonetheless,
Riches says that the public has the right to know how the FDA decides to approve
or reject drugs.
