sloc200911251jpgPHOENIX – State House Representative and Senator-elect John Kavanagh has asked Ohio Governor John Kasich to participate in a press conference Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at noon about the state-lead initiative to balance the federal budget. Each year deficit spending by the federal government adds to the $18 trillion in debt America has amassed. It is clear that Washington lacks fiscal discipline and that the states must lead the way before it is too late. The state-lead initiative began in earnest December 2013 at the home of George Washington in Mount Vernon, Virginia. Representatives from more than 20 states met to discuss rules and procedures necessary for a state-lead constitutional amendment requiring the federal government to balance the budget each year. The governor will share his experiences serving as Chairman of the U.S. House Budget Committee and his success in passing a balanced budget resolution in Ohio.
