The State Auditor General’s Office says the motor vehicle department is making progress following an audit.  Shan Hays, a performance auditor, says the Arizona MVD was scoring poorly on its oversight of third-party authorization offices, ignition interlock program and counter service at field offices.

Hays also says the Auditor General’s Office will be doing a follow up to see if MVD has put recommendations in place. An ADOT spokesman also says the audit is fair and the motor vehicle office is always open to improving job performance.  Hays says some MVD offices provided fast, courteous customer service while other locations did not.
