An armed citizen shoots and kills a shoplifting suspect after a theft at a Tucson convenience store. Tucson Police Sergeant Kim Bay says the suspect walked into a Circle “K” store at 333 West Grant Road at about 2:30 p.m., took several items and left without paying, to the shock of several
customers who witnessed the crime.
A man in the store followed the suspect out to a parking lot. Bay says, when the suspect picked up a log and went for the man, he shot him. The armed man stayed at the scene as police responded to the shooting and cooperated with officers.
The suspect, 46 year old Gerald Ramon, was rushed to the hospital where he died. Bay says no charges have been filed against the citizen, but the Pima County Attorney’s Office will be reviewing the case.
