Jesus Manuel RiveraMohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jesus Manuel Rivera, 34, of Kingman, Wednesday (3/11) morning for arson of an occupied structure, aggravated assault per domestic violence and criminal damage per domestic violence, felonies.  At about 7:22 a.m., deputies responded to a suspicious structure fire at a residence in the 3100 block of East Ames Avenue.  Upon arrival, deputies observed Northern Arizona Fire Department personnel extinguishing a fire in a single wide mobile home which had flames and smoke coming out of the windows on the east side of the house.  All of the occupants were evacuated. Rivera who lives at the residence advised that he burned the house down because he was feeling claustrophobic as he is used to living in a double wide mobile home.   Rivera further advised that he used lighter fluid to catch his mattress on fire.  Deputies contacted Rivera’s father and he said that Rivera was upset.  Rivera and his parents escaped the fire without injuries.  Rivera was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
