Lake Havasu artists will have art on display and for sale at Mohave Community College’s bi-annual “Art-A-Fair,” Feb. 5-6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Havasu Campus, 1977 West Acoma Blvd.
MCC students and faculty will have a wide variety of artwork available, including lapidary, jewelry, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, photography, ornaments and cards. Many of the artists come from the local community and are donating their time and artwork to help raise money for the Mohave Community College Foundation’s Lake Havasu Chapter.
The MCC Foundation helps raise money for local scholarships, which are awarded to low-income and high achieving students.
“Even though a post-secondary vocational or transfer degree equates to higher lifetime earnings, we still have so many people in our service area who don’t believe that they can aspire to a higher education,” said Dan Lara, Executive Director of the MCC Foundation.
“MCC believes they can, and the scholarships that are funded through this event help to make college more accessible and affordable.”
