Arizona
State University Athletics is announcing that they are changing their clothes…saying
“adios” to Nike and “ola” to Adidas. ASU
Athletic Director Ray Anderson says the school is ending its long-standing
relationship with Nike to ink a huge deal with Adidas to provide apparel, shoes
and accessories to the school’s varsity sports teams free of charge.

Anderson notes that means the deal will
encompass much more than football as Adidas also owns the Taylor-Made golf and CCM
hockey equipment companies and it includes money that goes far beyond just the
clothes and equipment, including promotion and facilities development.
