At least six people have applied for the vacancy to be created by the end of June retirement of Division 3 Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn. A mandatory age 70 retirement law forces Conn from the post he’s held for more than three decades.

Applicants so far include Mohave County supervisor Steve Moss, Mohave county Court Commissioner Billy Sipe, Justices of the Peace John Taylor and Jill Davis, and area attorneys Jacobo Chavez and Virginia Crews.

The application deadline is end of business Friday. Finalists will be selected for interview and the selection  and appointment decisions lie with Arizona Governor Doug Ducey.
