Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to a shooting incident Tuesday (4/5) morning.
As previously reported, Tuesday (4/5) morning at about 10:14 a.m., deputies responded to an RV Resort Park located in the 1300 block of E Boundary Cone Road. See original Press Release dated 4-5-2016 at http://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=131&cid=711.
Further investigations have determined that the suspect had an ongoing dispute with Billy Smith, 60, who is also a tenant at the park. The suspect left the park office after getting upset with Smith and he went to his residence in the park and retrieved a handgun. The suspect proceeded back to the office where he shot Smith in the head. The suspect then returned to his residence and sat down in a chair outside of his residence where he shot and killed himself. A handgun was seized at the scene.
The identity of the suspect will be released after next of kin has been notified.
Smith is currently listed in critical condition at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This case remains under investigation.
