Police are on the hunt for a suspect who attempted to sexually assault a woman.  Sergeant Jaime Rothschild with Silent Witness says the suspect followed the woman to her apartment complex in downtown Phoenix.  He went up the elevator with the woman and when she opened her

apartment door, he jumped her from behind and forced his way in.  The suspect started to drag the woman kicking and screaming into the bedroom when her roommate heard the cries and walked in on the struggle.  The roommate scared the suspect off and he ran from the scene. Video surveillance located inside the elevator shows the suspect frantically pressing buttons and changing his clothes before bolting from the scene.  The suspect is an Hispanic or Native American man in his 20’s, about 5’8, 160 pounds.  Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
