LVMPD PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT - LAUGHLINAn Arizona man was airlifted to Las Vegas in critical condition Sunday night after being hit by a car while walking across Casino Drive in Laughlin. The 60-year old man, whose name has not been released, was reportedly walking in the middle of the intersection at Bruce Woodbury Drive when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.  According to Metro detectives at the scene early this morning, eyewitnesses said that the pedestrian was not in any of the crosswalks and was walking from the west side of the road, toward the east and against the pedestrian control devices. The eyewitnesses also indicated the traffic signal was green for north and southbound traffic on Casino Drive at the time of the accident. The 25-year old driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian is a Bullhead City resident and is not suspected of any wrongdoing. Detectives say there was no evidence to suggest the driver was impaired in any manner. Traffic on Casino Drive was restricted while Metro detectives from Las Vegas were dispatched to Laughlin. Northbound motorists were detoured onto Bruce Woodbury Dr. and onto Thomas Edison Dr. Southbound motorists were allowed through the intersection, but there were no left turns allowed onto Bruce Woodbury.  The accident remains under investigation. The condition of the pedestrian was unknown as of early this morning.
