A fiery crash last night in the Rio Lomas neighborhood send one person to a Las Vegas hospital with third-degree burns to his chest and face, and sent two others to Valley View Medical Center. A fourth person was arrested by Bullhead City police after he was caught allegedly trying to flee the scene of the accident. Witnesses to the event captured the suspect and held him until officers arrived on scene. At this time, the suspect’s name has not been released, nor the charges he may face.
An off-duty police officer was in the area when the accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. They reportedly attempted to help the driver of the Jeep Cherokee that was set ablaze by the collision. The officer and others instructed the driver to stop, drop and roll in an effort to extinguish the flames. Bullhead City Fire Department paramedics transported him directly to the Careflight heliport at Valley View Medical Center. He was last reported to be in critical condition while en route to Las Vegas.
Both vehicles are believed to have been travelling in the same direction on Highway 95 when the sedan rear-ended the Cherokee, near the Ricardo Drive intersection. At this time, it’s unknown who was driving the sedan. There were three occupants and two of them sustained minor injuries and were treated at the hospital.
