Phoenix African-Americans exploded with outrage and despair as the latest police shootings killing two blacks went national. The boiling point erupted at a hastily-called rally Thursday afternoon at Phoenix First Institutional Baptist Church.
Some in the crowd suggested, maybe it’s time to stop playing nice, and use force with force against the cops. But some speakers admonished them, warning, if you engage in violence you can’t win. A Mesa man who admits to owning 12 weapons including an A-K-47, pointed out that a live-streamed video showed Philando Castile, a concealed carry gun owner, had informed the officer of his status and complied with the officer, “but they still killed him.”
The outrage comes in wake of officers fatally shooting Castile in Minnesota and Anton Sterling in Louisiana.
