Mohave County Sheriff’s Waterways deputies responded to an injury boat accident near Havasu Palms on Lake Havasu late Tuesday (6/20) morning. Approximately 9:55 a.m., deputies responded to the scene of where three occupants, including the operator, were ejected from a boat.
The 36-foot Skater vessel was traveling an estimated 80 to 100 miles per hour when the operator made a hard left turn and the occupants were ejected. Everyone was wearing a lifejacket and the operator of the boat was also wearing the safety engine cutoff lanyard.
The operator suffered severe head laceration and was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center. The two passengers had minor injuries and refused medical. Several witnesses said they saw a large splash.
Apparently the boat was traveling southbound on Lake Havasu near Havasu Palms when the accident occurred. This accident remains under investigation.
