The sound of a concrete saw is ringing out in a quiet north Kingman neighborhood today (Monday) as Mohave County Public Works and Sheriff's office personnel begin excavating the backyard of a residential property where a homicide victim was allegedly buried more than a year ago.
It was July 9 when Richard Polaski, 63, told authorities he killed his friend John Holland, 65, and buried him in the back yard of Holland's home in the 3700 block of Lass Avenue. Polaski told investigators he put Holland's body in a hole and encased it in three feet of concrete or more.
Chief Deputy Rodney Head said the sheriff's office has postponed the search for the body to fully develop an action plan to complete repairs as quickly as possible.
Head and the county attorney's office said an investigation continues into fraudulent activity Polaski, and possibly others, employed to gain power of attorney to take control of Holland's property, trust account, vehicles and other assets.
