body+found+25On Friday, March 25, 2016 at 3:48 p.m. deputies from the Needles Station responded to a found bones call in the desert near Interstate 40 and Essex Road near Fenner, CA. Upon arrival, deputies met with the reporting party who was a surveyor. The surveyor led deputies to the location of the bones. Several bones were collected by the Coroner’s Division.

On Saturday, March 26, 2016, the bones were identified as human. Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail assumed the investigation and responded to the scene where the bones were found. Homicide investigators conducted an investigaiton and located additional bones which were collected by the Coroner’s Division.
