On Wednesday, May 18th at 5:40 p.m., Bullhead City emergency crews responded to an accident in the 1800 block Artesia Dr. where a 6-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle. It was reported that a mother and daughter were walking across the street as a Ford Expedition, driven by 21-year-old Alexis Contreras, was approaching.
Contreras was unable to stop in time for the 6-year-old boy who later ran after his family. The boy was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to Sunrise a Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, NV with a broken leg and further medical evaluation.
Contreras was cited and released for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
