Mayor Tom Brady is emphatic in stating that the Bullhead City council will not revisit the possibility of holding the Colorado River Regatta next year. Following some two hours of debate and discussion the council voted 4-3 on September 20 to pull the plug on the river float in 2017.
Regatta supporters, however, have different notions. They packed an October 4 meeting to urge council reconsideration.
The September decision stands, said Brady.
“The regatta definitely will not happen next year,” Brady said. “The council already voted.”
Brady, however, noted that the September regatta cancellation vote is not binding for the future. He said the matter could be revisited should future councils want to consider modifying the event and conducting it again after 2017.
