A prison term is mandated in a plea agreement for a Bullhead City man who was originally charged with the attempted murder of a former girlfriend who was brutally beaten at a motel in May, 2019. Jeffrey Swick, 53, pled guilty June 6 to a reduced charge of the abuse of a vulnerable adult.
Prosecutor Jacob Cote said Swick was in a caretaking position when he assaulted the 42-year-old victim who suffers from multiple sclerosis. He said she was hospitalized for treatment of “bruising and bleeding” all about her body.
Sentencing is scheduled July 14 before Judge Billy Sipe. He would impose up to a 9 1/2 year prison sentence if he accepts the plea agreement.
