The Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District responded to a reported lightning strike in the 2300 Block of Suffock Ave. at 5:26 pm during the area storm on the evening of August 22, 2016. On arrival units found lightning had struck one tree and the roof at the electrical drop to the building, according to Fire Chief Pat Moore.
“Fire to the tree had been extinguished by the heavy rain on arrival and no fire damage to the structure was found,” Moore said. “Damage from the lightning strike was noted and the electrical meter was destroyed. ”
No injuries were reported.
UniSource electric division secured the power lines and utility meters.Kingman Fire Department, Unisource electric and Unisource gas, assisted with the emergency.
