Bullhead City Police Officers carried the “Flame of Hope” through Bullhead City Monday, to help raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics Arizona.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run started at La Puerta Road on Highway 68 with the Special Olympics Torch “hand off” from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
When the torch reached the Colorado River, it was carried downstream by officers and community members in kayaks.
The torch’s arrival was celebrated with a Torch Reception Fundraiser at Community Park. The torch was visibly displayed by police officers & supporters who ran along Highway 95 until the end of the city limits where it was turned back over to the Department of Public Safety.
“The Bullhead City Police Department is thankful to once again be part of this year’s Torch Run to benefit the Special Olympics Arizona. We are grateful for the generous community support.” said Corporal Dave Finney, BHCPD Law Enforcement Torch Run Coordinator. “We look forward to growing this event next year!”
The torch will continue on its journey as officers carry the torch throughout the nation!
