Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter said the city met its goal after spending $432,000 to purchase heavy equipment to treat the city road network. The City Council authorized purchase of the Rayner RoadSaver 3G Slurry/Microsurfacing Machine in July, 2016.

Acquisition of the apparatus and its incorporation into the Public Works Street Maintenance Department came with the goal of slurry seal treatment and micro-surfacing 20% of the city road network each year.

Cotter informed Council members during their June 13 meeting that the Department had to suspend its street preservation campaign for the summer due to temperature considerations. He said, nonetheless, the goal of 20% treatment was attained and added that the city may be able to accomplish more when using the machine a second year.
