John Edward DemkoMohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Edward Demko III, 28, of Golden Valley, early Friday (10/23) morning for burglary 2nddegree, burglary 3rd degree and attempted burglary 3rd degree, felonies.   Approximately 1:08 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 6600 block of Agua Fria Road.  While entroute, deputies contacted the reporting party.  The RP said that he was awoken by his dogs barking and observed a motion light was on by his neighbor’s garage.  The RP further said that his neighbor left this morning and no one should be on his property.  The RP reported seeing a male subject walking around his neighbor’s property.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject on the property inside the locked fence area.  Deputies announced themselves and the male subject took off running on Agua Fria Road toward Stewart Mountain.  More deputies arrived and searched the area without locating the male subject.  Deputies located the suspects’ wallet he had dropped on the property.  Deputies located identification belonging to Demko inside the wallet.  At about 2:03 a.m., deputies were informed of a neighbor hearing noises in their back yard in the 3800 block of Mormon Flat Road.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject running in empty fields.  A short time later, deputies located Demko hiding near a bush where he was taken custody without further incident.   Deputies questioned Demko about the burglary and Demko said that he didn’t take anything.  Deputies responded back to the residence of the reported burglary and observed a pile of scrap metal that appeared to have been moved.    Deputies also observed the residence has a 5 foot fence surrounding the property and the gates were locked.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
