Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Richard Jack Sherman, 49, of Kingman, Wednesday (11/12) morning for burglary and possession of burglary tools, felonies. Approximately 9:50 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary that just occurred at a residence in the 12600 block of N Pima Road. While en-route, dispatch advised that the reporting party, a neighbor to the burglarized residence, is following the suspects truck described as a maroon and silver Chevrolet. Dispatch further advised that the reporting party has stopped following the truck and the truck was last seen traveling on Kaibeto Boulevard towards Antares Road. Shortly thereafter, deputies located the vehicle traveling on Antares Road. Deputies conducted a high risk traffic stop on Antares Road at California Drive. Deputies detained the driver identified as Sherman. Deputies proceeded to the residence with the reporting party. During the investigation, deputies observed copper wire had been pulled from a breaker box at the residence. The reporting party said the following items were missing from the house; a motorcycle picture, a black boom box and several cowboy style straw hats. Copper wire and straw hats were later located inside Sherman’s truck. Deputies also located the following burglary tools inside Sherman’s truck; a power inverter with an extension cord, a grinder with a modified power cord to be plugged into the inverter and a head lamp. Deputies contacted the homeowner and the homeowner confirmed her neighbors were watching her residence. The homeowner also confirmed prosecution against Sherman for the burglary. Sherman was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
