Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ezekiel Emmanuel Lewandowski, 18, of Kingman, early Tuesday (3/24) evening for burglary, felony, and false report to law enforcement, misdemeanor. Approximately6:08 p.m., deputies contacted Lewandowski in a parking lot of a bank located in the 2300 block of Stockton Hill Road. Lewandowski was an investigative lead on an unrelated incident. During the investigation, deputies learned that Lewandowski had thrown something in the dumpster behind the bank. Deputies retrieved a checkbook folder with checks from inside the dumpster belonging to a local business. Deputies contacted the owner of the business, a 67-year-old male victim. The victim said that someone had stolen the checkbook folder from an employee’s car. Deputies questioned Lewandowski and he denied knowing anything about the checkbook folder. Deputies advised Lewandowski that a witness said he threw the folder into the dumpster and the surveillance camera captured him doing so. Lewandowski said that he did not do it. As Lewandowski was taken into custody, he confessed to throwing the checkbook folder into the dumpster. Lewandowski was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
