Arizona authorities have released the names of three Californians who were killed in a two vehicle crash on U.S. 93, about 26 miles south of the Nevada border. Those who died in the collision reported at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, July 30 were in a Honda passenger car that had been south bound on the highway, according to the Department of Public Safety.
DPS said the Honda turned left off the highway and traveled through the highway median to a stop sign before pulling out in front of a north bound Chevy passenger vehicle. The driver and a passenger in the Honda were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
DPS said passengers in the Honda who were fatally injured include Aishamara Rodriguez Quiroz, 21, Lake Forest; Samantha Hartsell, 24, Santa Margita and Fernando D. Soto, 22, hometown undisclosed.
DPS said the driver and both passengers in the Chevy were also transported to hospitals for treatment of their injuries. DPS said driver impairment is not suspected and the crash remains under investigation.
