unnamed (6)Mohave Electric Cooperative is proud to announce its 18th Annual Classroom Grants Program.  The program provides funding for expanded classroom learning opportunities in grades kindergarten through 12. Ten grants of $100 each will be awarded to teachers at schools within the Mohave Electric service area for projects based on need, creativity, benefit to students, age appropriateness, and integration with class curriculum. The grants may be used to purchase materials, supplies, equipment, or other essential items that support teachers’ special projects. Grant applications and program details are available to teachers through school district offices or by calling Lori Fonzi, Mohave Electric’s Public Affairs and Communications Coordinator at 928-758-0579. The application deadline is March 27, 2015. The Classroom Grants Program is part of Mohave Electric’s Commitment to Community and gives teachers extra help to create innovative learning experiences that promote student achievement. Grants are funded through unclaimed capital credits, as provided by Mohave Electric bylaws, at no expense to the Cooperative. Photo Caption:  Camp Mohave Elementary students tend to their school garden.  Teacher Sheila Wyatt said, “This grant made it possible for all of our students to see how plants grow and produce food for people.”
