A Lake Havasu City woman held responsible for a residential fire has entered a plea agreement in the case. An arson count is dismissed in exchange for 40 year-old Vanessa Byrd’s guilty plea to a criminal damage charge.

Prosecutor James Schoppmann said it appears that Byrd knocked over a candle that sparked the fire that caused about $10,000 in damage to a home 13 months ago. He said Byrd did not appear to be impaired but that she was making nonsensical statements about butterflies and flowers when firefighters arrived.

Byrd will be placed on probation and could get county jail time when sentenced April 7.
