Teen Armed Robbery Suspect

Police are looking for a teenage armed robbery suspect.  Sergeant Derek Elmore with Silent Witness says a Hispanic teen around 17-years-old walked into a Circle-K in the 21-hundred block of 35th Avenue in March and pulled a gun on the clerk.  Elmore says the teen demanded cash and cigarettes.  He also   tried to get the keys to a car parked outside the store.  The clerk didn’t know who owned the car and the suspect ran from the store.  The teen was last seen running westbound on Monte Vista Road.  The teen is about five-foot-two, wearing a black Miami heat jersey, black jeans, black beanie hat, leather gloves and a blue bandanna covering his face.  If you have any information, you are asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.  There is a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest. — Kris...

Killer Is On The Run

A killer is on the loose.  Sergeant Steve Carbajal with Tempe Police says 28-year-old Richard Tyrone Johnson is on the run after shooting a 30-year-old man in the parking lot of a Tempe apartment complex.  The victim is a 30-year-old man who died as a result of the gunshot wound.  Carbajal says Johnson took off   in a 1996 gold Cadillac with Arizona license plate number AHB-2105.  Police consider Johnson armed and dangerous and his whereabouts are unknown.  Police believe the victim and Johnson know each other, however, the motive behind the shooting unknown.  If you have any information, you are asked to call 9-1-1 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.  — Kris Dugan...

Firefighters Award Hero Citizen Live-saving Award

Phoenix Firefighters award brave citizen for saving a 72-year-old woman from a vicious dog attack.  Captain Ben Santillan with the Phoenix Fire Department says Juan Figueroa has been given a “Citizen Lifesaving” award for his heroic efforts on fending off a wild pack of angry dogs that were attacking 72-year-old   Elia Gutierrez at Barrios Unidos Park in July.  Figeuroa was driving by the park early in the morning when he saw the elderly woman struggling to hold off the dogs.  Figueroa came to the rescue and fought the dogs off with a pipe until help arrived.  Gutierrez lost four pints of blood and endured hours of trauma surgery, but in the end she survived thanks to the heroic efforts of Juan Figueroa. — Kris...

Harkins Theaters Robin Williams Film Fest

Harkins Theatres has taken to the silver screen to honor the life of Actor and Comedic Genius Robin Williams.  Harkins Valley Art in Tempe will feature five of Williams’ top films including “The World According to Garp,” “The Birdcage,” “Dead Poets Society,” “Good Morning Vietnam,” and the movie that won the   actor an Oscar, “Good Will Hunting.” The mini film festival will play all week with the last showing of “Good Morning Vietnam” wrapping up the film fest on Thursday at 9 p.m.  The movies are $5 each and proceeds go toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  A charity close to Williams’ heart.
