CYLINDERS LOCATED IN FORT MOHAVE

The Mohave County Sheriff’s office is investigating the discovery of cylinders in Fort Mohave. Spokeswoman Trish Carter said a family that was target shooting at the rock quarry east of the landfill came upon the first cylinder the evening of January 3. Carter said a man shot the cylinder which exploded and damaged a vehicle and a side by side. No one was injured. Carter said sheriff’s deputies located a second cylinder on January 4 that was safely detonated by bomb squad personnel. The cylinders resemble a scuba tank and are about 24 inches in length. COUNTY SUPERVISOR MOSS SETS NEW YEAR’S PRIORITIES

Steve Moss said improving law enforcement and roads are his top priorities as he begins his second four year term as Mohave County supervisor. “Our criminal justice system and our road systems are not being adequately maintained,” Moss said. He introduces the matter for discussion at the Board’s first meeting of 2017. Moss said problems must be identified and prioritized before solutions are explored. COUNTY OPPOSES ALCOHOL FOR DREAM GIRLS DANCE CLUB

As it has before, the Mohave County Sheriff’s office is opposing an ownership effort to gain licensed approval for beer and wine consumption at Dream Girls, an adult entertainment dancer club on Highway 95 in Fort Mohave. The business has an application pending before the Arizona State Liquor Control Board, and Sheriff’s Captain Dean McKie urged Mohave County Supervisors to recommend denial during their December 5 Board meeting. Local authorities who had hoped to release additional information regarding a criminal investigation focused on a Fort Mohave doctor say they are unable to do so because a federal prosecutor convinced a judge to order the sealing of an indictment and other public records. BREAKING NEWS—FORT MOHAVE DOCTOR ARRESTED; ILLEGAL PILL ENTERPRISE ALLEGED

   A Fort Mohave doctor is the focus of a multi-state DEA investigation into an alleged illegal prescription pill enterprise. The DEA said about $750,000 in cash, 49 weapons and eight vehicles were seized during November 15 searches at the home and office of Dr. Shakeel Kahn.    The DEA said another search warrant was executed at an undisclosed location in Fort Mohave and another in Wyoming.   Dr. Kahn and his wife, name undisclosed, were arrested Wednesday (Nov. 30) morning in Wyoming.    The DEA indicated more details and indictment information will be provided, possibly Thursday.    The Board of Medical Examiners...
