SUMMER SCHOOL START

Schools in the Bullhead City Elementary and Colorado River Union High School Districts will offer summer school programs beginning May 30.  Elementary and junior high classes will be offered through June 9.  High school classes will be available through June 22. Bus transportation is available in some areas.  Classes and subjects vary by campus.  Faculty members from different schools are collaborating on the programs. TOWNSEND LAUNCHES RECALL FOR BURGESS BOND SUPPORT

A member of the Colorado River Union High School District is the target of a recall campaign filed with the Mohave County School Superintendent’s office. Superintendent Mike File said the Taxpayers in Action political action committee, headed by John Townsend, filed papers May 22 proposing the recall of Kerry Burgess. A submitted statement indicated that the ouster effort is entirely focused on Burgess’ support of the $35-million bond issue passed by voters last November. MOSQUITO FOGGING MONDAY

Mosquito surveillance conducted this week by the Mohave County Environmental Health Division (MCEHD) revealed two locations that met the protocol to conduct fogging.  The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide of when to fog.  FOGGING: Adult mosquito control application will begin on Monday evening May 22nd, around 8:00 pm, weather permitting.  Baron Pest Control was awarded the contract to provide larvicide and fogging services within Mohave County and will be conducting the ground fogging application.  Areas to fog include: ·        Quail Run Development, the business and residential area on the SE corner of Mountain View Rd...

20 ARRESTED THROUGH OPERATION “DIG DEEPER”

The MAGNET narcotics task force executed a search warrant which resulted in 20 arrests, and the dismantling of a theft and drug operation early Wednesday morning. This ultimately impacted the quality of life for citizens in Fort Mohave, Arizona and the Mohave County region. A one month investigation dubbed “Operation Dig Deeper” led to searches of four combined properties in the 4300 block of Cavalry Rd. in Fort Mohave.
