SCHOOL BOND VOTER INFORMATION EVENT

The Colorado River Union High School District will hold an open house and informational session Thursday (October 20) for interested voters about the school bond proposal on the November 8 ballot.  It begins at 10:30 am in the Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce auditorium, 1251 Highway 95.    District officials have already addressed questions about the bond before numerous service, professional and political organizations in Bullhead City, Ft.  The Tri-State’s very own Colorado River Toastmasters Club is conducting a speech contest on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 6:30 pm (AZ time).  The semi-annual event will be at the Chaparral Country Club located at 1260 Mohave Drive in Fort Mohave, Arizona.    This season’s contest theme is “Fall into Toastmasters”, as selected by Club President Maryann Shepard.  Local club members will compete in two categories.    The first opportunity for competition is a prepared speech based in humor and it must be between 5 to 7 minutes in length.   The second opportunity will be an evaluation session where...

Mosquito surveillance conducted this week by the Environmental Health Divisions (MCEHD) revealed several areas that met the protocol to conduct fogging. The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide of when to fog. FOGGING: Adult Mosquito control application will begin on Wednesday evening August 31st , around 8:00 pm, weather permitting.   Baron Pest Control was awarded the contract to provide larvicide and fogging services within Mohave County and will be conducting the ground fogging application. TODDLER NEARLY DROWNS

   Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a medical call involving a two-year drowning on Saturday, August 20.  At about 8:53 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in the 5600 block of Flint Street.     Upon arrival, deputies observed a 2-year-old boy lying on the porch breathing and responsive.  Medical arrived and transported the victim to Valley View Medical Center where he was airlifted to a hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.      Investigations determined that Noah Romero fell into an above ground pool at the residence.  Noah’s mother found him in the pool and he was not breathing.  The...
