Rick Armstrong, the manager of Superior Tire’s Golden Valley facility, explains the proper procedure of mounting and dismounting tires from rims to five members of the Keeping Hot Rods Going Youth Program. During their visit to Superior Tire, the 14 to 17 year old students learned about different types of tires and their uses, proper inflation of various tires, balancing tires and how to mount/dismount tires without scratching rims. SCOT INDUSTRIES APPROVED

Mohave County supervisors have approved zoning and plan amendment requests to allow Scott Industries to set up shop in the Golden Valley area. The company has been leasing space at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park but wants to build, own and operate its own prefabrication pipe and plastic product facility. “We are optimistic that this will be approved and we are looking forward to being an asset to the community,” Scot Industries’ President Steve Wilmeth said during the July 3 Board of Supervisors meeting.   Opponents of Scot Industries’ proposed relocation to Golden Valley hoped to convince Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commissioners that the pipe fabrication facility should be rejected at a site selected south of the Walnut Creek Estates subdivision. The name of the man who was killed in a Memorial holiday weekend aviation incident in northwest Arizona has been identified by the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Agency spokewoman Trish Carter said Eulice Melton Evans, 63, was fatally injured in the crash of the ultra glider he operated on Saturday, May 27.
